One notice here is patching your Windows does not mean you are no longer vulnerable to BEAST. Microsoft does not have a big role in the BEAST vulnerability but they still have to fix due to their Internet Explorer. A proper fix will only be considered if you have web browsers that compatible with version higher than TLS 1.0. And not to forget the web server as well.
Lots of security experts were disappointed last month over the Microsoft patch release. Reason is because the fix for BEAST at that time was not there although it was already scheduled. Last I heard, Microsoft pull it off due to the reason that the testing is not sufficient.
Although the BEAST patch was not there, Microsoft had successfully patched the Duqu vulnerability. Right now, the most dangerous treat over the last 3 months are all patched and fixed by Microsoft.
Why am I talking so much about all these things?
Last but not least, I would like to urge everyone to stay updated always and enable the auto update. If you are lost somewhere in protecting your computer, always refer to my computer security tips eBook to learn the right way to protect yourself.
