Fake Facebook Subscription $9.99 Spread Around the Internet

The news on the rumors that Facebook is going to charge begin to hit the scene yet again and this time around comes with the price amount where it is ranged from $3.99 to $9.99 a month. I had wrote one this post before and it gave me a massive hit on traffic few months back where most of them come from organic traffic.

I know that many of us do not like the Facebook profile and interface to be changed. Many of my colleagues and friends are looking for a way to return back to the old interface look. With the change of interface, those cyber crooks take the advantage of spreading the rumors that Facebook is going to start charging due to that issue.

Logically, even with the profile changed, there is no reason for Facebook to start charging. Even if they want to charge, they also would not ask you to post something on your wall to avoid those charges. Do you think such a simple copy and paste can stop them from charging you if they really really want to charge? Oh yah, too much of talking and I kind of forgotten to show you all how the message looks like.

I hope none of IT Security Column’s readers copy and paste the message above on your Facebook profile.

Two days ago, I woke up in the morning and saw that my traffic hit up to 5000 over visitors. The best that I ever reach was like 300 visitors in a day but thanks to the rumors, I’m hitting close to 10k visitor on that single day.  I’m not joking and you can check out my Google Analytics below to see my sudden boost in traffic.

    Oh, not again!

Last year someone came up with a similar type of story: that Facebook was going to start charging and some people, including a few that I know, even copy-pasted a “I’m not paying” notice on to their Wall.

If Facebook starts charging, it will never be the same again and I’m sure lots of people will drop off – I certainly will.
