Money Making Spam on Compromised Twitter Account

Some of the compromised Twitter account had been spreading a money making scam by various messages but mostly target to land on What this website shows is how young kids or home mum can make thousands of dollars at home without breaking a sweat where you might be burning tons of energy out there just to earn pennies. That is how those people put things though in order to get you to sign up for their premium package to earn those cheques that they are showing. The ultimate outcome is, they want to make your money and not asking you to make money 🙂

How Twitter Account Got Compromised

Remember that I had posted a news on the Twitter phishing issue back in three weeks back. There is a high possibility that those users who got trapped by the phishing site had their account compromised. Since those users got their username and password stolen, it is very easy for the scammers to tweet about these stuff unless the compromised users already got their Twitter password changed.

One thing interesting here is that the scammers were able to detect my GEO location (which is Puchong) where the scamming website will show news about my current area. Theoretically, I am living in a fine Asian country and at least, scam me with some asian chicks and kids! However, I did not have any direct contact of a friend or family members who got caught by the previous phishing scam and hence I did not see the money making scam around my Twitter profile. I just do a search at the Twitter site and I got plenty of them.

Twitter Money Making Scam Resolution

If you have friends who are tweeting messages such as the one shown in the screen, do tell them that they are tweeting something unwillingly. This is at least what you can do as the unaffected user. However, to those who knew that you are affected, do change your password immediately and do an antivirus scan on your computer.
