Microsoft Fixed Critical Bluetooth Vulnerability

microsoftMicrosoft just released the latest security patch which fixed 22 vulnerabilities including one of the most critical one which is the Bluetooth vulnerability. This patch is very critical and should be applied immediately if you are using Windows Vista and Windows 7. Apart from that, there are also other vulnerabilities that you should take note over at the Microsoft official site.

Usually, laptop users will enable their Bluetooth to make connectivity easy. What happen to the current unpatched Windows is that there is a vulnerability for attacker to inject some malicious code without even asking for permission before connecting to your Bluetooth.

Imagine that in a working environment where everyone is using a laptop and have their Bluetooth enabled, the attacker can easily infect the entire office within the Bluetooth range by injecting the malicious code into one computer and spread it to the other one by one. If it spreads Trojan Horse or some damaging Virus, then no one can imagine the damage. Hence even if it is not for your own safety, do patch it for other people’s safety.

If you have trouble applying your Windows patch, do ensure that you had disabled your Bluetooth connection. Also it is always recommended that you use your Windows as a standard user and not as an Administrator. Last but not least, patches are there for the good of all people and thus, PATCH IT!

The problem with not turning automatic updates on is that if a critical patch from Microsoft is released, we have to reply on bloggers and other sites to get the information. Good information by the way.
