Avast Antivirus Review – The Score

The Avast antivirus is one of the top free antivirus around and this entry is all about the score or rating from IT Security Column and also other reviewers. Just like the score that I did for BitDefender review, this time around will be more or less the same. However, due to the popularity of Avast Antivirus Home edition around the world is not so high, not all top reviewer site reviewed the Avast Antivirus Home edition. They prefer to review the Pro or Internet Security Suite instead as it has more features. However, normal home user should be sufficient with Avast Antivirus Home Edition and here are the compilations of all the reviewers’ score and rating.

What IT Security Column Rates Avast Antivirus Home Edition?

avast score

Avast antivirus score as high as 86.67% after averaging from the top software review sites. You might see that this antivirus scores better than others simply because the reviewers think that this antivirus is value for the price. For a free antivirus and being able to perform like a paid antivirus is really a product worth trying. After all it only lacks of features if you read about my post on Avast Antivirus Review. This antivirus did provide a Pro or Internet Security edition where money issue is involved here and you can check my entry on whether it is worth upgrading your Avast antivirus.

I have used the free edition of AVG for more than 3 years now. I can certainly recommend it as, during that time, I have had no security problems with my pc.

Also, prior to using AVG I used McAFee paid for anit virus software. An AVG system scans does a complete pc scan in about a third of the time that McAFee used to take. In addition, the AVG updates complete in around 30 seconds, whereas McAFee updates would more or less freeze my pc for 2 or 3 minutes.

I am tempted to upgrade to the paid for comprehensive version of AVG, but with the free edition so good they are making it very hard for me to justify the cost.

AVG indeed is one good antivirus around. It even well established before Avast. People at that time only talks about AVG free antivirus. But now many more antivirus are giving away free and hope for the upgrade that can bring them revenue. Probably you might want to look into AVG paid in detailed 🙂
